The object of the frame to slide buffer is to protect the pistol from wear, if the buffer is not soft enough to take the damage instead of the pistol what have you accomplished? Slide SHOK-BUFF (flat side first) on recoil spring guide, aligning it with corresponding shape of recoil spring guide, install recoil spring as usual. Reassemble pistol as normal. NOTE: We recommend that you change the SHOK-BUFF every 1,000 rounds with standard loads. SHOK-BUFFS may require replacement more often with hardball or hotter loads.
